What an amazing experience. The service was so attentive, friendly and informative. The food was fantastic, really fresh and tasty. The drinks were perfect. We particularly enjoyed the advice on tequila and the shots were so good. This was the best experience I have had in a long time in a restaurant. We also had the pleasure of tasting a new tequila tiramisu which was delicious. Thank you for a wonderful lunch.

Absolutely fantastic experience! The staff were warm and welcoming, and the food was outstanding. I often find restaurant dishes aren’t quite spicy enough for my taste, but this place delivered, they had a sauce measuring 2.2 million Scoville units, and it definitely brought the heat! The atmosphere was vibrant and inviting, and the cocktails were exceptional!

Today I had one of those unforgettable dining experiences you instantly want to repeat. La Cueva de la Llorona is, by far, the best Mexican restaurant I've ever tried – a true gem in Carlisle. From the moment you walk in, you're embraced by a warm, vibrant atmosphere. The decor is full of character, the music sets the tone, and the staff make you feel genuinely welcome. We tried several dishes, and each one was better than the last: juicy, flavourful chicken fajitas, perfectly crispy nachos with fresh guacamole, and delicious quesadillas. And let’s talk about the desserts – crispy-on-the-outside, soft-on-the-inside churros, and the fried ice cream… absolutely amazing! This place is perfect for date nights, fun dinners with friends, or family outings. You can truly feel the love and authenticity in every bite. Without a doubt, La Cueva de la Llorona has become my new favourite spot in Carlisle – and I’ll definitely be back!

Enjoyed a lovely afternoon at La Cueva La Llorona. I had the steak fajitas, the steak its self was cooked to perfection but i was left a little disappointed with the lack of flavour. My wife ordered the chicken tacos (soft shell) and she had a very similar view to myself. The staff were amazing, drinks were brilliant but we were expecting a little more especially when the dishes looked as good as they did!

Came in this evening with my parents and partner. First time we have been and we absolutely loved it, down to the decor and the story behind the inspirations. I wasn’t very well, through no fault of the staff, and the staff were extremely lovely and kind about it. They let me take my tacos to go, which were so tasty with really fresh flavours. Will be visiting again:)

Just the most amazing service. Loved how the menu linked with the story of the poor lady. Lived the tequila with the coffee. The food was outstanding. The waiters were so informative and were able to recommend food and drinks and described everything perfectly. We were down from Glasgow and would definitely make the trip to Carlisle again just to visit this restaurant. Thank you so much

We hadn't booked a table and went in on the off chance to see if there was availability. From the minute we walked in we were made to feel welcome and nothing was too much trouble. The food was gorgeous and the drinks/cocktails fantastic. Food can be made to whatever spice levels you want (mild to hot) and everything was beautiful. Bruno and Pedro were fab and we weren't rushed out. The Nachos with salsa and guacamole were delicious to start along with enchiladas and burritos. Would highly recommend and will definitely be back. Wasn't expensive for the food and drinks we had whilst we were there. Atmosphere was great and a lovely place for a drink if you don't want food.

Had a lovely lunch here. The staff were very welcoming and looked after us the whole time, recommending home made sauces and telling us the story of La Llorana. Food was delicious with something for everyone
